I always look at things this way


Forget what the car "is worth." The issue is, you need a form of transportation that is reliable.

For $2-3K, you can get this one fixed which should give you reliable transportation.

If you don't get it fixed, what would something that you could call reliable transportation cost you? I'm guessing more than $2-3K (unless public transit is a viable alternative).
